From 2021 to 2023, I had the opportunity to work as a volunteer at SUCO, a Canadian international development and cooperation NGO, helping Peruvian civil society organizations to improve their project management and to develop and fund climate change resilient development projects, particularly in the areas of education, agroecology, water management and gender equality, in various Peruvian communities throughout the country.
During this unforgettable experience, I was led to travel a lot (Pozuzo, Oxapampa, Baños, Villa de Pasco, Ica, etc.), to meet extraordinary people, coming from different cultures with their own traditions and customs, organizing and thinking society in their own way, which opened my mind considerably by becoming more aware, in particular, of the importance of intercultural exchange to challenge the preconceived ideas that one can have and the hasty and superficial conclusions that one can make regarding the issues of society.
