International Development and Cooperation

From 2021 to 2024, I had the opportunity to work as a volunteer with SUCO, a Canadian international development and cooperation NGO, supporting Peruvian civil society organisations working in areas such as agroecology, education, gender equality and human rights. I worked alongside local organisations and communities to help them strengthen their projects, improve the way they planned and managed their work, and access funding to turn their ideas into concrete initiatives.

From 2024 to 2027, I continued this journey in Peru by joining Oxfam, where I became involved in a broader range of programmes addressing social and climate justice, gender equality, sustainable development and the rights of communities and indigeneous people. My role has focused on helping teams and partner organisations better understand the changes generated by their work, learn from their experience and use evidence to improve their programmes and strategies. I have also contributed to exploring how innovation and digital tools can support this work in more effective and responsible ways.

Throughout these years, I have had the opportunity to travel extensively across Peru, from the Andes and the Amazon to the coast, and to meet extraordinary people from different cultures, each with their own traditions, worldviews and ways of understanding and organising society. These experiences have considerably broadened my perspective and deepened my understanding of intercultural exchange, the importance of questioning preconceived ideas, and the need to approach complex social and environmental challenges with humility, context and multiple perspectives.
